I live in an office block which has been converted into flats, the walls are particularly thin ie I can hear cutlery clinking and a clock ticking sometimes, is there anything I can do DIY wise to reduce the noise short of putting in another wall and adding insulation….

I was really excited to receive this knife set for Xmas last year from a friend who has been my guinea pig for many a Sunday meal. I was watching Food TV one day, and the chef referenced the twins on the knives… I noticed one day that some of my knives only have one guy on them! I was with my friend when he bought this set at Costco, is it possible I’ve received a “defect” set *gasp* sold at a warehouse price for that reason?

I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on Wusthof knives for cooking, but when it comes to steak knives I swear by the $8 sets of four steak knives I bought at Kohl’s a few months ago on clearance. They just have this great feel to them. They’re perfectly balanced. They’re truly sexy, manly steak knives. I don’t know how or why I ever set a table without them. Best investment I ever made. I was so impressed that I also bought the paring knive set by Chicago Cutlery. Those are indispensable in the kitchen as well.
But, sadly, their cooking knives, boning knives, bread knifes, &c specialty knives just don’t stack up as far as performance with the Wusthof or any of the forged knives on which I rely every day for prep in my little apartment kitchen.

What Is The Best Cutlery Set Out There? Or Even A Real Good Set?

in my opinion, the best knives out there are made by wusthof. i have their Grand Prix II set and i LOVE them. they are well-balanced, have good handles and are razor-sharp.
yes, they were fairly expensive, but i think they are well worth it.
