When Using Cutlery, Do You Switch Hands To Cut And Eat?
I’ve realised I cut (with the knife)with my right hand and then switch the fork to my right hand to place the food in my mouth?

When I’m out for a meal, I have knife in my right hand, fork in the left – but at home, same as you
I cut up the meat (if i can) with the knife in my left hand, and then transfer the fork to my left and to eat, as i have Cerebral Palsy down right side, cutting with a knife is difficult, if eating out i will order things i don’t need to cut, fish etc

You should eat with fork in left and knife in right. Even if you are not using your knife you should hold it in your right hand.
I don’t always do this though, only when I’m eating out!!!

but really, ur supposed to cut the food with the knife in the left hand and fork in right, i guess it’s just easier that way

Depends. If i need to use both then I keep it in the same hand but if i no longer need to use the knife I will switch the fork to the other hand
yep one piece in each hand and don’t let go just keep eating and never ever turn your fork up to scoop up the peas gross and keep the elbows tucked in, you’re not flying.
I did the same when I was younger, predominantly right handed but eating left handed.
Now I’ve discovered I’m actually ambidextrous. =]

No, every time we did that as kids my mum used to tell us off for not using proper table manners! lol
It was great when I left home, sometimes when I’m being naughty I just eat with my fork in the right hand. lmao
No I don’t usually Elric only if put the knife down and just use the fork (which I wouldn’t do if eating out!!) then yes I will switch the fork from the left to the right hand.

No not me,Elric.But then again I am almost ambidextrous – you on the other hand must be very right-handed which is fine – it’s better than the food ending up on the floor!
I don’t do that but I only use a knife and fork when eating out…
Indoors, I always use a spoon to eat everything…I use my teeth to cut with…lol
