What Is Your Favorite Brand Of Cooking Knives That Stay Sharp And Do Not Rust?

I am looking to buy a few knives…probably not a whole set since I never use all the knives. I want a Chef’s, paring, serrated knife, and maybe a few other knives.
I am looking at the Rachel Ray East West knife as one option.

I’ve had very good luck with Global, Shun, and Hoffschner. All are stainless steel, so rust is not an issue, and they hold their edges well if you hone regularly. I use my Globals the most and have only had to have them sharpened once in the last 6 years, although the Chef’s and paring knife are about due.
My Shun Santoku is only a few months old but is rapidly becoming my favorite knife ever, and my Hoffschner carving knife is 8-10 years old and going strong…of course it doesn’t get used as often as the others.
The Rachel Ray is prolly fine as long as it’s a good stainless steel blade.
    Happy cooking.

My favorite is gerber they make very hard knifes ( they can be chipped.) never use a steel or edger on them they are too hard, but they hold an edge for ever if you use a proper plastic or wood cutting board mine will usually last about a year if I treat them well. They are just below shaving sharpness at the end of a year.
these are the chrome handeled moddles- they will rust and some are the newer stainless steel -they do not rust..
I love them and I use them hard daily. by the way have them professionaly sharpened do not use a pull-through type sharpener as it will produce cracks in the blades….forget the serrated knife they are saws not knifes . good for breads and cakes and little else.

I love the RADA knives. They are made in the USA and come with a lifetime guarantee.
You can buy all sorts of different knives. They sharpen up really well. I even bought the little sharpener they sell and it works wonderfully.
These knives are usually sold by organizations for fund raisers, but you can order them on line.
I like them because they are made in the USA!!!!!!

Depending on what size you are looking for, check out these:
    Cold Steel K-4
    Cold Steel K-5
    Cold Steel K-7
The blades are thin and razor sharp. Excellent for slicing.
