    silverware = any kind of eating utensil. knife, spoon, fork
    cutlery = knives or anything used to cut.

    I agree. Silverware is what you eat with, meaning fork, spoon, butter knife, steak knife, exc. Cutlery is what you use to prep food, meaning chef’s knife, boning knife, paring knife, exc.

    Cutlery – serrated knifes ect.
