I recieved a new set of very expensive knives as a house warming present. My fiance left the chef’s knife in the strainer wet. I came home and found a small rust spot near the blade. Is there anyway to save my knife? Please help!

You could try to rub it out using s we -stone (type used to sharpen the blade). Add a bit of oil on the wet-stone and rub the blade on a circular motion, then back and forth…It should work
p.s. If the knives are new, I’d contact the company for replacement. It shouldn’t rust with merely one contact with water as you indicated.
    good luck

Naval jelly will work. You can get it at any hardware store. It is pink any in a little jar. Scotch bright should work as well.

Most likely this is a stainless steel knife and you have been putting it in the dishwasher which has damaged the knife. Many of the high end stainless-steel knives can’t be put into the dishwasher as the heat of the dishwasher lessens the stainless properties of the steel. If you’ve been doing this, it isn’t your BF leaving it in the strainer, it’s the dishwasher!

i saw an ad on tv for something called CLR which stands for calcium lime and rust – it’s suposed to clean those 3 things off of porcelain or tiles i cant remember
